Each year our education programme is supporting 15 schools (c. 450 children) across our renewable portfolio. This includes an annual visit and renewable workshop for three primary schools local to Park Farm: Packington School, St Charles School and Measham School.
The sessions are designed to help children familiarise themselves with the technology and understand the importance of renewable energy in modern day society and give them a good understanding of the impacts of climate change. All teaching follows The National Curriculum and links to subjects including science, maths and geography. Classroom resources such as solar powered toys are also provided to assist learning.
The children have said:
‘I now know so much about solar panels’
‘I now feel that solar panels are really useful to get more energy for houses’
